"Too Far" is a song by Australian recording artist Kylie Minogue, included on her sixth studio album ''Impossible Princess'' (1997). Written by Minogue and produced by Minogue and Brothers in Rhythm, it was later included in the track list of Minogue's compilation albums ''Confide in Me'' (2002), ''Kylie Minogue: Artist Collection'' (2004), ''Confide in Me: The Irresistible Kylie'' (2007), and remixes of the song appeared on her remix albums ''Mixes'', ''Impossible Remixes'' (1998) and ''Essential Mixes'' (2010). The song is a drum and bass track in which Minogue sings about frustration and anger.
"Too Far" was short listed as the lead single from the album, but was released alongside other album tracks as a radio airplay single in Australian in New Zealand by Mushroom Records; BMG released it as a vinyl in the UK and US. "Too Far" was met with positive reviews by most music critics, many of whom highlighted it as an album stand out and praised the composition and production. Minogue has performed the track on two of her concert tours; Intimate and Live Tour and Showgirl: The Homecoming Tour.
==Background==
"Too Far", alongside album track "Say Hey", remain the only songs solely written by Minogue and discusses Minogue's frustration and anger. One day, Minogue left her home for an entire day because she felt it was a "negative atmosphere", and wrote the song at a local cafe.〔 She commented "I wrote Too Far very quickly and at a very bad state."〔 She exampled the lyric "Caught up in this house, trapped my very own self in the snare of my mind," and said the line explained her "very well at the time".〔 She said the lyrics were claustrophobic-like, feeling that she "couldn't find a way out".〔 Although she commented the song was "nothing I have ever done before," she felt the song was a "good form of release" of emotions.〔 Interviewed with the magazine ''Music Week'', Minogue stated that "Too Far" was "the strangest thing I have ever written."
