Written by Minogue and produced by Minogue and Brothers in Rhythm, it was later included in the track list of Minogue's compilation albums ''Confide in Me'' (2002), ''Kylie Minogue: Artist Collection'' (2004), ''Confide in Me: The Irresistible Kylie'' (2007), and remixes of the song appeared on her remix albums ''Mixes'', ''Impossible Remixes'' (1998) and ''Essential Mixes'' (2010). The song is a drum and bass track in which Minogue sings about frustration and anger. "Too Far" was short listed as the lead single from the album, but was released alongside other album tracks as a radio airplay single in Australian in New Zealand by Mushroom Records; BMG released it as a vinyl in the UK and US. "Too Far" was met with positive reviews by most music critics, many of whom highlighted it as an album stand out and praised the composition and production.
